Abstract

An F1 hybrid was produced in 1948 from Eucalyptus maideni and E. rubida.
In 1962, trees were large enough to fell and to provide heartwood samples.

With the exception of one anatomical feature which was like the E. maideni parent, both anatomical structure and mechanical properties of the F1 hybrids were intermediate between those of the parents.
