Hi, I'm Linden Schaffer and I want to talk to you today about the dangers of intermittent fasting. Many people think that intermittent fasting is the new diet trend because a bunch of books that have been published lately but actually this has been around for thousands of years. Mostly people have been doing it for religious reasons. Intermittent fasting can be anything from skipping a meal to skipping a few days of meals to even doing a juice cleanse. Anything that drastically reduces the amount of calories that you intake into your system. When you fast you stress your body so if you've ever tried fasting yourself you may have noticed some signs of irritability, anxiety, or daytime sleepiness. All things that are pretty difficult to experience when you're trying to perform at work. The problem with intermittent fasting is of you're using it with weight loss or to try to cleanse something out of your body its really not teaching you healthy habits. So when you go back to eating again often times you end upon gaining more weight more rapidly because you're not dealing with things such as portion control or even learning how to make healthier food choices. Often time when you do an intermittent fast you're playing out the feast and famine cycle so if you're looking to make a long term change in your life style to consult a professional so you can actually sit down and talk about your reasons and goals and you can setup a plan together.
