Large pores can give your face an uneven tone and texture, and leave you susceptible to blackheads and acne. A weekly skin tightening face mask can help shrink your pores so that they are clean and less noticeable. You can make your own face mask with ingredients from your fridge. Lemon juice helps to clear pores and tone skin, notes the University of Chicago Department of Pediatrics, and strawberries act as an exfoliant to remove the dead skin and oil that clog your pores and make them look more pronounced.

Chop a quarter cup of ripe strawberries coarsely with a kitchen knife. Place them in a food processor. Pulse them in the food processor until the strawberries become a pulpy paste. Add 1/2 tsp. of freshly squeezed lemon juice and 3 tbsp. of regular cornstarch, and mix well to combine, says Sara Wells, of the website Our Best Bites. Remove the mixture from the food processor container and transfer to a bowl.

Wash your face well with your favorite cleanser. Pat dry with a clean towel. It's always best to wash before applying facial masks, so that dirt and oil don't block the pores that the mask is working to benefit.

Take the mask and the bowl into the bathroom with you, and use your hands to apply the mask to your face with your hands. Cover your face, avoiding your nostrils and eyes. If you find that the mixture will not stay on your face because it is too thin, add another tablespoon of cornstarch to thicken it to a better consistency.

Leave the mask on until it has hardened, which should take about 20 minutes. The lemon is a powerful astringent that can help clear out your pores so that they can effectively tighten. The Oregon State University Department of Food Science and Technology notes that strawberries are packed with riboflavin and antioxidants to help give you a more even skin tone.

Rinse the mask off with cool water. Pat dry with a towel. Moisturize with an oil-free moisturizer or a teaspoon of sweet almond oil to combat any drying effects from the face mask.
