Oil That Helps Fight Belly Fat

Oil supplementation as a way of fighting fat may seem absurd, but it is in the essential fatty acids that lie their awesome potential. Evening primrose oil contains a high amount of the active ingredient gamma linolenic acid, or GLA. GLA is also found generously in borage seed oil and black currant seed oil, which contains GLA (omega-6s) as well as omega-3s, offering a unique combination, according to Dr. Elson M. Haas. With the help of essential fatty acids, which our bodies cannot fully produce, you will see an overall improvement in health, including weight loss.

Eating Fat to Get Thin

Oil That Helps Fight Belly Fat
Omega-6 fatty acids are found in safflower, sunflower and corn oils in the form of linoleic acid, or LA, but the omega-6s in evening primrose, borage and black current seed are in the form of gamma linolenic acid, or GLA, which the body does not have to convert from LA into GLA and therefore will benefit directly without interference from bodily stresses. GLA helps your body hold on to protein, slows the absorption of carbohydrates to balance blood sugar levels and carries fat soluble vitamins through the bloodstream. Good fats are satisfying, prevent overeating and help bring an end to fat cravings as well.

How It Works

Oil That Helps Fight Belly Fat

According to a top nutritionist, Ann Louise Gittleman, GLA stimulates your thyroid, raising your metabolism and activating your brown adipose tissue to burn fat rather than store it in your white adipose tissue. While regulating fat metabolism, It also regulates water retention and sodium balance. The GLA in evening primrose oil has an especially positive effect on hormones because it works via a network of hormones that control virtually all body functions at the cellular level. This is an important part of weight control.

Hormone Control

Oil That Helps Fight Belly Fat
Stress, lack of sleep and poor eating habits trigger cortisol production, causing the body to store more fat than needed, usually in the abdominal area, says Ann Louise Gittleman. It can be a vicious cycle if not brought under control. If you believe you are prone to belly fat, evaluate your lifestyle and consider healthy habit changes in addition to GLA supplementation. Women, in particular, feel benefits of using GLA oils because they help ease premenstrual and menopause symptoms.

Important Information

Oil That Helps Fight Belly Fat
Although essential oils are accessible to all, when starting any new treatment or supplement program, consult your doctor first.

Borage oil has been shown to increase blood-thinning qualities of medications such as aspirin. Evening primrose oil should not be taken with antidepressants because it can augment the risk of seizures.

Essential oils such as the omega-3s from flax, cold water fish, walnuts, soybeans, wheat germ, sprouts, sea vegetables and leafy greens also stimulate your metabolism and help your body burn fat.

WOOD PRODUCTION

Lumber and wood products are created from the trunks and branches of trees through a series of steps, as follows.

Harvesting

Mature trees are harvested from pine plantations and also from native forests. Trees harvested at a younger age can produce smaller logs, which can be turned into lower value products. Factors such as the site and climatic conditions, the species, the growth rate, and silviculture can affect the size of a mature tree.

Timber Mills

The native hardwood sawmilling industry originally consisted of small family-owned mills, but this has recently changed to include a small number of larger mills. The mills produce large volumes of standard products, and aim to ensure a "standard quality of product, efficiently and safely, at low cost, with rapid production time and high output".

Uses

Once the timber has manipulated in the required fashion, it can be used for its purpose. There are many different purposes for wood including: plywood, veneer, pulp, paper, particleboard, pallets, craft items, toys, instrument-making, furniture production, packing cases, wine barrels, cardboard, firewood, garden mulch, fibre adhesives, packaging and pet litter. Western Australia has a unique substance called ‘bio-char’, which is made from jarrah and pine. Bio-char can be used in the manufacture of silicone and as a soil additive. Products

Hardwoods & Softwoods

Softwoods, such as the Australian eucalyptus, are highly valued, and are used mainly for construction, paper making, and cladding. The term "roundwood" describes all the wood that is removed from forests in log form and used for purposes other than fuel. Wood manufacturing residues, such as sawdust and chippings, are collectively known as "pulp".

Changes in technology

Originally, "trees were felled from native forests using axes and hand-held cross-cut saws". This was a slow process involving manual labour. Nowadays, harvesting is done by a small team of contractors, who are aided by various pieces of machinery. Sawmills were traditionally located within forests, so logs had to be transported over long distances and rough terrain to reach their destination. Soon, waterways were used to transport the logs. Later on, logs were transported via tramlines, "first by steam-powered log haulers then by steam-powered locomotives, and finally diesel and petrol-powered locomotives". Even in the modern era, timber is dried in kilns. The first steam railway in Australia opened in Melbourne in 1854. This dramatically changed the nature of timber transportation and made it possible for the sawmilling industry to move inland away from the coast, due to transportation being made quicker and cheaper.

How to be proud of yourself

Being proud of yourself is also known as having strong self-esteem. People who are proud of themselves tend to have passions in life, feel content and set good examples for others. “We need to help foster the development of people who have healthy or authentic self-esteem because they trust their own being to be life affirming, constructive, responsible and trustworthy,” says Robert Reasoner, president of the International Council for Self-Esteem. Being proud of yourself requires envisioning the person you would like to become and making your best efforts to grow as an individual.
How to Be Proud of Yourself

Step 1

List your personal goals. These can be fairly simple, such as organizing your bedroom, or you can set bigger goals, such as going back to college to earn your degree. Also write down how you plan to achieve your goals. For example, you might jot down, “I’ll set up boxes for things I plan to donate, sell or recycle” or “I’ll contact the college for an application.”

Step 2

Take care of your body and personal appearance. Eat plenty of whole grains, fruits and vegetables. Get seven to eight hours of sleep each night, and exercise regularly. People who take care of themselves physically tend to have higher self-esteem than those who neglect their physical well-being. Wear clothes that fit and make you feel proud of your body. Each morning, spend time making yourself attractive and presentable.

Step 3

Educate yourself. Read books and news articles, keep abreast of current affairs and discuss issues with your friends and family. Enroll in a class or write short stories or in a journal. People who take care of their minds and have a thirst for knowledge often feel proud of themselves and their achievements.

Step 4

Make daily affirmations. “Affirmations can be a helpful tool in helping you manifest your wants and needs in life,” explains Dr. Deepak Chopra, best-selling author and authority in the field of mind-body healing. Each day, give yourself compliments and words of support. You might feel uncomfortable doing so at first, but over time it can become second nature if you take the practice seriously. Tell yourself you are worthy, intelligent, caring and compassionate or use other adjectives that make you feel good about yourself.

Step 5

Eliminate negative thinking. When you catch yourself self-criticizing, immediately stop your train of thought and silently say “Next,” suggests Chopra. You can also replace your negative thought with a positive self-comment, or nip destructive thinking in the bud by meditating, exercising, reading or writing.

Step 6

Steer clear of negative people. “Negative people deplete your energy. Surround yourself with love and nourishment and do not allow the creation of negativity in your environment,” writes Chopra in "Creating Affluence: The A-to-Z Steps to a Richer Life." If certain people in your life criticize or belittle you, spend as little time as possible with them. Negative and overly critical people can poison your thinking and make you doubt yourself and your abilities. Find friends who are supportive and caring and want you to succeed.

Step 7

Reward yourself for your accomplishments—big and small. Take yourself out to dinner or buy yourself a new outfit if you’ve reached a goal or even attempted to reach a goal. Rewarding yourself also can be as simple as telling yourself you’ve done a good job and setting new goals to achieve.

CHARCOL BISCUIT

charcoal biscuit is a biscuit based on a powdered willow charcoal or activated carbon mixed with ordinary flour, and made into dough with butter, sugar and eggs.

Charcoal dog biscuit (Winalot Shapes).
History

Charcoal biscuits were first made in England in the early 19th century as an antidote,to flatulence and stomach trouble. The Retrospect of Practical Medicine and Surgery, a medical text published in 1856, recommends charcoal biscuits for gastric problems, saying each biscuit contained ten grains (648 mg) of charcoal. Vegetable Charcoal: Its Medicinal and Economic Properties with Practical Remarks on Its Use in Chronic Affections of the Stomach and Bowels, published in 1857, recommends charcoal biscuits as an excellent method of administering charcoal to children.

Contemporary forms

In modern times charcoal biscuits are made in the form of crackers to accompany cheeses. The biscuits have a slight hint of charcoal taste that is described by some as pleasing. The biscuits have also been marketed as a pet care product to control flatulence in pets, and as aids to digestion or stomach problems in humans.

Cultural references
In Brideshead Revisited, Evelyn Waugh writes of Charles Ryder consuming charcoal biscuits and iced coffee while cramming for exams at Oxford. Ludwig Wittgenstein is said to have eaten very little else while staying in Ireland.
In August 2012, charcoal biscuits were featured in the dessert round of an episode of the Chopped: Grillmasters tournament on Food Network.

ACTIVATED CHARCOAL (MEDICATION)

Activated charcoal, or activated carbon, is used as a medication to treat poisonings following excessive oral ingestion of certain medications or poisons. Side effects may include aspiration into the lungs.
It is on the World Health Organization's List of Essential Medicines, the most important medications needed in a basic health system. It costs wholesale between 0.01 and 0.02 USD per 125 mg pill.

Activated charcoal for medical use.

Medical Uses
Poison Ingestion

While it is used to treat many types of oral poisonings, there is no good evidence that it improves outcomes. It is not effective for a number of poisonings including: strong acids or bases, iron, lithium, arsenic, methanol, ethanol or ethylene glycol. In a study of acute poisonings from agricultural pesticides and yellow oleander seeds, the administration of activated carbon did not affect survival rates of patients.

Gastrointestinal tract-related in issues
Charcoal biscuits were sold in England starting in the early 19th century, originally as remedy to flatulence and stomach trouble.
Tablets or capsules of activated carbon are used in many countries as an over-the-counter drug to treat diarrhea,  indigestion, and flatulence. There is some evidence of its effectiveness to prevent diarrhea in cancer patients who have received irinotecan. It can interfere with the absorption of some medications, and lead to unreliable readings in medical tests such as the guaiac card test. Activated carbon is also used for bowel preparation by reducing intestinal gas content before abdominal radiography to visualize bile and pancreatic and renal stones. A type of charcoal biscuit has also been marketed as a pet care product.
Side Effects

Incorrect application (e.g. into the lungs) results in pulmonary aspiration which can sometimes be fatal if immediate medical treatment is not initiated. The use of activated carbon is contraindicated when the ingested substance is an acid, an alkali, or a petroleum product.

Mechanism of action
Active charcoal binds the poison and prevents its absorption by the gastrointestinal tract. In cases of suspected poisoning, medical personnel administer activated carbon on the scene or at a hospital's emergency department. In rare situations, it may also be used in a hemoperfusion system to remove toxins from the blood stream of poisoned patients. Activated carbon has become the treatment of choice for many poisonings, and other decontamination methods such as ipecac-induced emesis or stomach pumping are now used rarely.
Mechanisms of action:
  • Binding of the poison to prevent stomach and intestinal absorption. Binding is reversible so a cathartic such as sorbitol may be added as well.
  • It interrupts the enterohepatic and enteroenteric circulation of some drugs/toxins and their metabolites.
