Roads
Roads on the Fernow Experimental Forest are part of the Monongahela National Forest road system. The Cheat Ranger District Motor Vehicle Use Map includes all open roads on the Fernow. The main road, FR701, and several spur roads are open for public use year-round, but snow removal in winter is not guaranteed. Log trucks and other heavy equipment frequently use the roads on the Fernow, including during the winter months. Consequently, be cautious when driving or otherwise using the roads on the Fernow.
