Fernow Experimental Forest

[photo:] Most forest roads on the Fernow are open to the public year-round.Visitors are welcome to tour the Fernow Experimental Forest. Signs are located along the main roads describing various research studies. A guided tour through the Forest can be arranged for interested groups by contacting the Site Administrator at 304-478-2000 (voice and TDD). Another less formal option is the Virtual Tour of the Fernow which combines a combination of driving and walking stops. 
The Fernow is accessed by County road 219/7, the Brooklyn Heights Rd., from U.S. Route 219 in Parsons, West Virginia.  The Timber & Watershed Laboratory is located on FR50 off of U.S. Route 219 just east of Parsons.
