Abstract: In the article the author analyzes the development of land lease relations in agricultural enterprises, as well as organizational and economic characteristics and priorities of functioning of agrarian formations on the basis of lease of agricultural land. The advantages, shortcomings, reasons and factors which influenced the development of land lease relations. The structural changes in forms of land ownership. Defined theoretical and methodological bases and practical recommendations concerning the formation and regulation of land lease relations in agricultural enterprises. The essence of the concept of "land rent". Researched trends and opportunities to further improve the land rent relations in the context of globalization. It should be noted that lease land relations can give the desired effect under the following conditions: the state, financial, legal and organizational support; social justice; the confidence of the farmer in the stability of the national policy and legislative framework.
