Abstract: After the approval of the Declaration of Independence (August 27, 1991), the Republic of Moldova lives in the hope to strengthen its place among the democratic nations of the world and to build a new socio-economic system. The formation of the new economic system goes through a difficult stage of joining its own efforts with those of the international community. The paper focuses on the evolution of the national economy, of the import of goods and services, on the benefits of the national economy integration in relation to the Eurasian Customs Union. The authors come up with some proposals that would accelerate and streamline the process of national economy integration to the European Union.
