Fertilization may be regarded as one of the most important aspects for a high-yielding crop. Several aspects of mineral nutrition assessment are thoroughly addressed in this chapter, including visual diagnosis, leaf diagnosis, and soil analysis. The management and use of fertilizers and correctives (lime, gypsum and phosphate application) are presented along with “conservationist” practices (green and organic fertilization).
